International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF)
May 10-15, 2020
Since 1950, Society for Science & the Public has provided an international stage for the world’s best and brightest young scientists through its International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), the world’s premier STEM competition.
Every year, tens of millions of students compete in science fairs around the globe but only about 1,800 earn the right to compete for the nearly $5 million in awards bestowed each May at ISEF. Learn more about competing at ISEF.
Thousands of individuals contribute their time and energy to ISEF each year as judges, interpreters, and event volunteers. Organizations give special awards, present symposia, and provide educational outreach experiences. Find out how you can participate.
The subject of two critically acclaimed movies now showing (Inventing Tomorrow and Science Fair), ISEF inspires millions of students to think differently and build a better future.
The Society for Science & the Public is thrilled to be a part of the film Inventing Tomorrow – a documentary following students from Mexico, India, Indonesia and Hawaii as they prepared for ISEF 2016. The film competed and premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival. https://www.pbs.org/pov/inventingtomorrow/
