Aparna K. Paul

Aparna K. Paul (she/her) is Director of Communications at Society for Science. As editor of the Society's blog, she contributes to blog strategy, oversees two writers and writes pieces as well. As a media relations lead for all of the Society's programs, she has a demonstrated history of securing impactful media coverage resulting in national stories in numerous top-tier news outlets including Smithsonian Magazine, The New York Times, Inside Edition, The Washington Post, Forbes, NPR, Business Insider, Stat and many more. She has a background in editing, writing, media relations and communications from a number of organizations, including the Society for Neuroscience; the Journal of Neuroscience; Anna Schuleit, Artist & MacArthur fellow and Kortenhaus Communications, a boutique public relations agency in Boston. Before entering the non-profit sector, Aparna worked as a book editor in the publishing industry. Aparna obtained her B.A. in English Literature & Cultural Studies, Business Administration and a minor in Sociology from Bryant College, with a full academic scholarship, and focused her studies on a science curriculum at The University of Pennsylvania.
