Gayle Kansagor

Gayle Kansagor, Chief Communications & Marketing Officer, oversees all of the Society’s communications activities, from media relations to social media. Gayle’s team supports all of the Society’s science competitions, Science News and the Society’s outreach work. Gayle comes to the Society from The Harbour Group, where she was a vice president. While at THG, Gayle developed a strong track record of working with her clients to place stories and opinion pieces in national, local and hyperlocal news outlets across all mediums, including print, online and broadcast. Gayle managed the firm's corporate work with AT&T in the mid-Atlantic, promoting the company's corporate social responsibility initiatives, such as the "It Can Wait" anti-texting while driving campaign, device launches, and wireless network enhancements and expansions. Additionally, Gayle led THG's work with the Biotechnology Innovation Organization, working with the organization on health, energy and intellectual property issues. Gayle’s other clients have included the Biotechnology Institute, PBS, Neustar, Shure, and CompTIA. Prior to THG, Gayle was an editor at Telecommunications Reports International, a premier telecommunications trade publication. While there, Gayle covered state regulatory, legislative and business activity and during her five-year tenure was named editor of TR's State NewsWire. Gayle has a B.A. from American University.
