The Intel Science Talent Search (Intel STS) is America’s most prestigious science research competition for high school seniors. Since 1942, first in partnership with Westinghouse and beginning in 1998 with Intel, SSP has provided a national stage for America’s best and brightest young scientists to present original research to nationally recognized professional scientists.

SSP is honored by Intel's commitment
to this program through 2016.

Intel STS 2010 Finalist Announcement

The 40 Finalists of the 2010 Intel STS were announced at 4:00 pm on January 27, 2010.These students will come to Washington, D.C. from March 11-16, 2010, to compete for over $630,000 in awards.

Intel STS 2010 Semifinalist Announcement

The 300 Semifinalists of the 2010 Intel STS were announced at 4:00 pm on January 13, 2010. Semifinalists and their schools will each receive $1,000.

Intel STS 2010 Public Day at the National Academy of Sciences

Please join us as the 40 Finalists of the Intel STS 2010 share their research with the public on Sunday, March 14, 2010 from 1:00 pm–4:00 pm in the Great Hall of the National Academy of Sciences in Washington, D.C. You are invited to meet these students and share in their enthusiasm for science research. Winner of Intel STS 2009

Eric Larson of Eugene, OR is top winner of the Intel STS 2009. He received a $100,000 award from the Intel Foundation for his research project classifying mathematical objects called fusion categories. Eric’s work describes these categories in certain dimensions for the first time.
