Rekindling STEM friendships at Broadcom MASTERS alumni reception

Almost 100 Society for Science & the Public alumni, family, and friends reconvened in Washington, D.C. for the alumni reception held during the Broadcom MASTERS Science and Engineering Project Showcase on October 29.

There, they mingled and reminisced about their projects, competition weeks, and current STEM pursuits.

The alumni had participated in one or more Society competitions, including Broadcom MASTERS; the Science Talent Search, sponsored by Regeneron; the International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF), sponsored by Intel; and the Discovery Channel Young Scientist Challenge (DCYSC).

Maya Ajmera, President & CEO of the Society, and Paula Golden, President and Executive Director of the Broadcom Foundation, welcomed the alumni and explained how important it is to remain in contact with each other. Then they invited the alumni and attendees to meet the 2016 Broadcom MASTERS finalists and learn more about their projects.
