About Daniel Schrag

Geochemist Daniel Schrag studies the history of global climate change to understand how we can mitigate and prepare for the implications of climate change in the future. Schrag competed in STS 1984 with an endocrinology project before earning a doctoral degree in geology from UC Berkeley. He has been a professor since 1993, teaching geochemistry at Princeton University and Harvard University, where he is director of the Center for the Environment. Schrag served on President Obama’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology from 2009–2017 and was named a MacArthur Fellow in 2000.
