Society for Science & the Public Shortens Name to Society for Science

Washington D.C. – The Society for Science & the Public has announced that in 2021, the organization will begin doing business as Society for Science in honor of its Centennial Year. “We are excited to start a new century with a shorter, easier to remember name,” said Maya Ajmera, President and CEO of Society for Science and Publisher of Science News. “We are proud of the Society’s long history, beginning as Science Service, then moving to Society for Science & the Public and now transitioning to Society for Science.”

With this name change, the Society expects its name to be easier to remember. No changes will be made to the Society’s social media handles. Our followers can still find us on Facebook at @Societyforscience, on Twitter @Society4Science, and on Instagram @Society4Science.

The Society’s legal name will remain Society for Science & the Public.
