Elyse Hope

Elyse Hope is the Strategic Initiative Manager at the Science Philanthropy Alliance, a non-profit advisory group that promotes philanthropic investment in discovery science research. She has previously worked in the research funding space at the intersection of academia, industry, and government, supporting the development of new genomics research programs and partnerships at Vancouver, Canada-based non-profit Genome British Columbia. She served as President of the University of Washington Women in Genome Sciences advocacy organization and on the alumni board of the Stanford Cap and Gown women’s honor society.

Elyse supports programs that drove her early interest in research as a volunteer judge at regional and state science fairs and at the International Science and Engineering Fair. She completed her B.S. in Biology at Stanford University, her Ph.D. in Genome Sciences at the University of Washington, and her postdoctoral fellowship at the BC Cancer Agency.

Elyse is an alumnus of the Science Talent Search 2006, the International Science and Engineering Fair 2004, 2005 and 2006, and the Discovery Channel Young Scientist Challenge 2002.
