Society for Science & the Public Champions Science

Society for Science & the Public statement on the March for Science.

On April 22, scientists, science enthusiasts and concerned citizens will be gathering in Washington, DC and in cities around the world to demonstrate their passion for science and engineering. The March for Science seeks to bring together a diverse, nonpartisan group to advocate for scientific research and inquiry.

Since 1921, the Society for Science & the Public has conveyed the excitement of science and research directly to the public through our timely, credible and independent science journalism and our world-class science competitions. The March for Science is consistent with our commitment to be a champion for science dedicated to expanding scientific literacy, effective STEM education and scientific research.

As we face complex and unprecedented challenges  —  not only to our nation and world, but to the institution of science itself  —  it is more important than ever to support and defend STEM education and research.

The Society, a nonpartisan, nonprofit membership organization, will provide information and resources about the March to our members, who include many of the top minds in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
