Tad Greer

Social Media Ambassador

Tad is the 2026-2027 Science News Learning Social Media Ambassador. In this role, he will help recruit new educators to the program and inspire enrolled educators to actively engage in the program by creating and sharing posts in our Society for Science Educators Facebook group, as well as across his social media platforms, about how he uses the program in his classroom.

As a retired Marine and lifelong learner, I bring a strong dedication to service and discovery into my classroom every day. For the past five years at James Campbell High School, I have had the privilege of guiding a diverse community of students through Physical Science, Biology, AP Physics, inclusion classes, and dedicated biology courses for English Language Learners. My approach to education centers on inquiry-based and problem-based learning, encouraging students to take ownership of their curiosity and explore how science functions in action.

Throughout my time in the classroom, I have seen firsthand the literacy and critical thinking challenges that many of our students encounter. To help bridge these gaps, I integrated weekly scientific articles into my curriculum. Connecting our lessons to current, real-world events has kept my students engaged while helping them develop essential reading and analytical skills.

I am incredibly proud to serve as a Science News Learning Ambassador. This program provides an invaluable resource that connects high-level scientific literacy directly to our students’ lives. The tools and strategies we share in science education do far more than prepare students for tests; they empower young minds to think critically, understand the world, and build habits of lifelong learning that truly make a lasting impact.
