Jessica Buono

Jessica joined Society for Science in 2025 as the Program Manager for Grants and Engagement, where she develops innovative grantmaking opportunities to support STEM education, including overseeing the Society’s STEM Action Grants, STEM Research Grants, Affiliated Fair Grants, Education Outreach Day School Grants as well as the year-long Advocate Program.

Before joining the Society, Jessica was at Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Philanthropies, where she worked in education grantmaking. Previously, she worked on the STEM team in the Office of Teaching and Learning at DC Public Schools and began her education career as bilingual middle school math and science teacher in New York City.  She has a Master of Science for Teachers from Pace University and a B.A. in Spanish/ Latin American Studies from American University.
