Intel ISEF Finalists from all over the world are streaming into Los Angeles to compete in the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, the world’s largest high school science research competition.  This year’s 1,543 Finalists earned the trip to Intel ISEF through their hard work and innovative research on projects in 17 categories, ranging from Mathematical Sciences to Environmental Management to Behavioral & Social Sciences. More than two hundred of this year’s Finalists are returning SSP alumni, having competed at Intel ISEF or one of SSP’s other education programs before.

This year’s Finalists come from affiliate fairs in 65 countries, regions, and territories, the most ever! First time countries include France, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, and Macao SAR of the People’s Republic of China.  In addition to the opportunity to compete for more than $4 million in awards and scholarships, including a top prize of $75,000, the Finalists have the unique chance to meet and discuss science with hundreds of young innovators from around the globe.

Good luck to all the Finalists, and welcome to Los Angeles!
