Shaping the Future: The diverse passions of the 2025 Regeneron Science Talent Search Scholars

While the 2025 Science Talent Search scholars are deeply engaged in their research, they also make time to participate in a range of activities such as advocacy, nonprofit work or inspiring the next generation of STEM leaders. The sky’s the limit for these exceptional innovators. Read on to learn about some of the diverse projects and initiatives these students are involved in outside of research.
- One scholar is the Director of Marketing at the We Care Act, where they have volunteered and raised $40,000+ in donations for the organization.
- One scholar founded an organization called Strands for Sustainability, which collects hair from 1000+ donors to be used to clean up oil spills.
- One scholar founded the advocacy branch of Life Alliance (South Florida’s Organ Procurement Organization) and raised $30,000+ for organ donation.
- Another scholar has been playing cello for 10 years and currently performs as a member of the Youth Philharmonic Orchestra.
- One scholar has earned several national and international titles in the World Board Gaming Championships, including titles in King of Tokyo and Monsters Menace America.
- One scholar is part of the Long Island Youth Orchestra and will be touring with them to Australia, Fiji and American Samoa next year.
- One scholar runs a biology meme channel with over 10,000 followers.
- One scholar founded an organization called Mind-full of Music, which provides volunteer opportunities for musicians to play in memory care senior homes.
- One scholar founded and started a VR Startup Company, Vroam, under which 30 students work to create replicas of major cities, from Paris to Berlin.
- Another scholar leads an award-winning Dragon Boat Team.
- One scholar enjoys painting seashells in their free time, adorning them with images of the ocean and loved ones.
- One scholar sings opera and is in training at the Peabody Institute at Johns Hopkins University.
- Another scholar won the Global Stockholm Junior Water Prize competition in 2022 where they presented their project to HRH Princess Victoria of Sweden.
- One scholar dedicated over 500 volunteer hours to local emergency services during the pandemic, including saving the life of an individual in cardiac arrest.
- One scholar is a Youth Ambassador for the United Nations representing the United States.
