Society for Science has named David Jenkins as its new Chief Financial Officer. Jenkins comes to the Society from The Climate Reality Project, where he most recently worked as the organization’s CFO.

September 2023: Society for Science and Thermo Fisher Scientific are proud to announce the 30 finalists in the 2023 Thermo Fisher Scientific Junior Innovators Challenge — the nation’s premier STEM research competition for middle school students. The finalists will travel to Washington, DC from October 28 – November 2 to participate in the Finals Week of the competition. Each student will be judged on both their science research projects as well as their demonstration of collaboration and critical thinking skills during team challenges, emphasizing the importance and value of teamwork in STEM fields.

Society for Science 2022 Annual Report – Looking Beyond – Donors

2022 FINANCIALS: Society for Science operates within three broad areas of program work: (1) science journalism, (2) world-class science competitions for high school and middle school students and (3) outreach and equity programming. In 2022, eighty-seven cents of every dollar spent by the Society supported program work. General and administrative costs accounted for six cents of every expense dollar, and fundraising costs equaled sevens of every expense dollar.
