Society for Science & the Public (SSP), publisher of Science News magazine, has launched a new weekly publication, Science News Prime, available only on the iPad.
Science News Prime, or SN Prime, like Science News, offers readers concise, current, and comprehensive coverage of news from across the spectrum of scientific disciplines in a richly illustrated, full-color format. Each week, readers will find an accessible digest of new discoveries and developments in various fields along with a feature article exploring the frontiers of research and important issues involving science and technology. Science News Prime includes select content not available elsewhere, including rotating columns, a “People” department on the personal side of the scientific enterprise, extended book reviews and short items on weird and wonderful creatures.

Science News’ origins date to 1922, when Society for Science & the Public, then Science Service, launched Science News-Letter, which became the magazine Science News Letter in 1926. The magazine reported on the early days of atomic energy, the development of modern genetics, and the many other astounding scientific and technological developments of the 20th century. Science News is now available on newsstands across the country as well as on Kindle.
