Christine (Christy) Burton

Christy Burton is Co-Founder of The Burton Family Foundation and chairs the Foundation board. She also serves on the boards of Achievement Rewards for College Scientists (ARCS) Foundation, Teach for America (Arizona), Support My Club and Social Venture Partners Phoenix. She is a member of Aspen Society of Fellows, Women in Philanthropy and Arizona State University Presidents Club. Education equity is a primary focus of The Burton Family Foundation philanthropic investments. These investments include support for college and career readiness programs for underserved high school students, college test prep camps and clubs, as well as sponsorship of Camp O’Connor, an experiential civics education summer camp for 7th and 8th grade students. The Burton Family Foundation invests in high school and college students studying in STEM fields. This includes funding college scholarships, undergraduate research, high school robotics clubs and sponsorship of the Science News Learning program for 100 Arizona schools. Burton holds a B.S. in Economics and Master of Public Administration from Arizona State University.

Burton is Secretary of the Board of Trustees of Society for Science and a member of the Society’s Capital Campaign Committee.

She joined the Society’s Board of Trustees in 2017.
