Catherine is an American scientist who specializes in artificial intelligence, previously holding a research post at MIT Media Lab, where she started the project that created the AI resource ConceptNet. Bridging the gap between artificial intelligence and business, she co-founded the analytics company Luminoso and ran it for eight years. She is currently Chief Product Officer of the mission-critical artificial intelligence company, Basis Technology. She was named among Boston Business Journal’s “40 Under 40”, of business and civic leaders making a major impact in their respective fields in 2014. Fast Company included her in its “100 Most Creative People in Business 2015″ listing. She is co-author of 7 peer-reviewed journal articles on AI and language, and many peer-reviewed major conference presentations. Catherine received her S.B. and M.Eng from MIT and her Ph.D. in Computer Science from Brandeis University.
