Research Teachers Conferences

In 2023, the Society once again brought together science educators from across the country to share best practices and learn from one another in a pair of immersive peer-led conferences: the High School Research Teachers Conference and the Middle School Research Teachers Conference.

Both conferences are designed to provide a unique professional development experience that focuses on peer-led sessions, nurturing teacher community and building teacher leaders. Educators who attend the conference also receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C., the conference host city.

In 2023, the Middle School Research Teachers Conference welcomed 75 teachers from across the United States. The High School Research Teachers Conference hosted 190 teachers from 41 states, Puerto Rico and the Northern Mariana Islands. Of this year’s attendees, more than 85% teach in public schools and more than 40% teach in Title I schools.
