Dawnita Altieri

Dawnita Altieri is the Society’s Chief of Staff and serves as the liaison to the Board of Trustees and the executive team. She works closely with the President & CEO on a portfolio of special projects. 

Dawnita previously worked as the Chief of Staff at public radio station WAMU, where she helped build and support the organization’s culture and served as a liaison to the station’s Advisory Board and its Community Council. Prior to that, she worked for Arlington County Government, the George Washington University, and the United States Senate.  

She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a master’s degree in Strategic Communications from the George Washington University.  

Dawnita is passionate about science, especially as it relates to our daily lives and centers around nature, health, and cooking.
