She has served as President of the University of Washington Women in Genome Sciences advocacy organization and on the alumni board of the Stanford Cap and Gown women’s honor society. Elyse supports programs that drove her early interest in research as a volunteer judge at regional science fairs in Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia and was thrilled to re-join ISEF as a Grand Awards judge in 2017. She received her B.S. in Biology from Stanford University where she published work on atmospheric modeling, and her Ph.D. in Genome Sciences from the University of Washington.
