Founding president and president emerita of the internationally recognized Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy®, founding president of the National Consortium of Specialized Secondary Schools of Mathematics, Science and Technology and past president of the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development International, Stephanie Pace Marshall is a pioneer, innovative global leader, and an inspiring speaker and writer on leadership, STEM education and talent development, and transformative learning and schooling design.
She is the author of over 40 articles, an editor and author of Scientific Literacy for the Twenty-First Century, a contributor to Learning and Understanding: Improving Advanced Study of Mathematics and Science in the US High Schools(National Academy of Sciences) and author of the award-winning book, The Power to Transform: Leadership that Brings Learning and Schooling to Life. Marshall is a member of the State of the World Forum and the Clinton Global Initiative, a fellow of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufacturers and Commerce (London), and a trustee of Ubiquity University and the founding vice chancellor of the Lincoln Academy of Illinois.
She serves on several corporate, civic and philanthropic boards and received numerous state, national and international awards. She holds a B.A. from Queens College; MA from the University of Chicago; Ph.D. from Loyola University; and four honorary doctorates. In recognition of pioneering achievement that "contributed to the betterment of mankind,” Marshall received Illinois’ highest honor — election into the Lincoln Academy as a Lincoln Laureate.
Dr. Marshall joined the Society's Board of Trustees in 2008.
