Kathlene Collins, Chief Marketing Officer, is the former publisher and one of three founders of the online professional journal Inside Higher Ed. She spent 20 years at The Chronicle of Higher Education, where she was associate publisher from 1993 until 2003, navigating the profound (and exciting) disruptions taking place in higher education and the publishing industry. She developed The Chronicle's career website, winner of several industry awards for excellence. A regular speaker at higher education, marketing and publishing industry conferences, Kathlene is a leading authority on employment branding and media marketing. She grew up in suburban Washington, D.C., attended Montgomery College and Catholic University and continues her higher education in one of Washington's longest-standing book groups (27 years, 250 books and counting).
