Science News, Dec 30, 2015: Gas tendrils trace location of spiral arms, study finds

Cait has been the Chief of Event Planning and Operations since 2015, managing the events and operations for the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, the Intel Science Talent Search and Broadcom MASTERS as well as the organization overall.  

Cait grew up in Pittsburgh, Pa. and Fairmont, W.Va. before moving to Washington, D.C. to attend George Washington University, where she Majored in Art History and Minored in Journalism. She started working at the Society soon thereafter as the Assistant to the Vice President & Business Manager (and former Society President), Donald Harless.  

Cait’s unique experience at the Society is that she has worked in almost every department, including handling magazine subscriptions, acting as secretary to the Board of Directors, serving as Interim Art Director and writing book reviews for Science News, and managing the Society's outreach efforts at trade shows. Cait handled some of those duties as the Books Resource Manager & Advertising Manager while she also was a buyer, writer, and designer for the Science News Books mail order catalogs. She then moved to her current position as Director of Events, where she has truly found her passion. Cait is involved in a number of trade groups and associations, including sitting on the Los Angeles Tourism Customer Advisory Board.

Cait lives in Bethesda, Md. with her partner, Clint Tanner, where they instill a love of the arts and sciences in their daughters Sophie and Zoe.
