Science News for Kids is the award-winning online publication devoted to children of ages 9-14, their parents and teachers. It was launched in 2003 to bring the important content of Science News to young audiences.

Science News for Kids has been funded by corporation and foundation grants. In 2011, SSP received support from the Lasker Foundation for Science News for Kids. The Lasker Foundation's mission is to foster the prevention and treatment of disease and disabilities by honoring excellence in basic and clinical science, by educating the public, and by advocating for support of medical research. Support from the Foundation will enable SSP to feature medicine and medical research-related articles as part of its award-winning content in 2011.
