HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR FORMS TO THE INTEL ISEF

Congratulations.  Please read through the instructions below carefully and then click on the link at the bottom of this page to log in.  It is important that this process is completed as soon as possible after having been named a finalist. All finalists are required to submit the necessary forms and paperwork within 12 days of your fair or by April 8, whichever comes first.

  1. Complete the Finalist Questionnaire. All finalists, including members of teams, must fill out a questionnaire.
    1. In order to complete the finalist Questionnaire you must have your fair ID. You can find your fair ID though our Find a Fair Utility..
    2. The questionnaire will ask for finalist information, school information, project exhibit information, and then for scientific activities and interests.
    3. Each team member must use her or his OWN email address and create his or her own UNIQUE password. (If you use the same password as your teammates or as others from your fair, you will overwrite the information on their questionnaires.)
    4. Every finalist must provide an SSP membership ID in his or her questionnaire. If you do not already have one, it is a simple process to obtain an SSP Student Membership by clicking on the link provided in Part 1A of your questionnaire. SSP Student Membership benefits include a one-year complimentary digital subscription to our Science News magazine as well as access to news and information throughout the year from SSP.
  2. Complete the Official Abstract Form.  An abstract must be submitted for each project. For team projects, the team leader will submit the abstract. We recommend you type your abstract in a word processing program first, and then paste it into the online abstract form.
    1.  As a part of completing the Official Abstract, you must select a category and subcategory for your project.  The sub-categories have been updated for several of the categories this year.  Please review the listing of categories with definitions to best match you project with judging expertise.
  3. Code of Conduct & Releases: This form must be signed by both you and your parent/legal guardian in order for you to compete at the Intel ISEF. This applies to all finalists whether you are an individual or a team member; for team projects, each team member must upload a Code of Conduct and Release.
  4. W-9 form: This form is required for all finalists representing fairs in the United States and U.S. territories to receive awards at the Intel ISEF. This does NOT apply to you if you are representing a fair from outside of the United States.
  5. Submit your Intel ISEF paperwork.  The finalist questionnaire will ask whether you are submitting your paperwork in hard copy or are uploading the appropriate documents.  Please consult with your science fair director to coordinate how your paperwork is being submitted. Your fair director will be able to upload or review uploaded forms as soon as you have finalized the questionnaire. It is ultimately your responsibility to provide your paperwork to SSP.
    1. ELECTRONICALLY: All finalists must submit the fair paperwork as soon as possible after their fair. All finalists are required to submit the necessary forms and paperwork within 12 days of your fair or by April 8, whichever comes first. An on-screen checklist will guide you through the process of filling out the electronic questionnaire and abstract. Once you have done that, the checklist will show you where to upload your required paperwork. Please use the instructions on the checklist for the appropriate order of items.
    2. Scan your forms as PDF files; our system will not accept .JPEGS. If you are a team, only the Team Leader will need to upload the Intel ISEF Rules paperwork for the team.
    3.  If you or your fair director experience any difficulty uploading your documents, please  fax the documents to (202)785-1243.
    4. Please be sure to keep the original of all of your Intel ISEF forms for your records. Do not send your originals to Society for Science & the Public. You should retain originals of your Intel ISEF forms, complete with appropriate signatures, for your records.
  6. Once you have completed the checklist, review your submission and then finalize your data.  You must complete and finalize as soon as possible so that SSP can review and send your paperwork forward to the Intel ISEF Scientific Review Committee (SRC).
  7. Abstract rewrites.  After final submission, you will see in the checklist an opportunity to submit an abstract rewrite.  If there are updates and or corrections that need to be made to your abstract, you may complete this form.  The deadline for submitting a voluntary rewrite is Monday, May 6.
  8. Projects must be reviewed by SSP staff before they are assigned a project ID. Please allow one week after submission for project IDs to be assigned.
