Thank you for participating in the 2011 Broadcom MASTERS Competition. The application is now closed. More information on the Broadcom MASTERS 2012 completion and application process will be available soon.
For a chance to compete in the Broadcom MASTERS, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students need to first compete in their local or regional SSP-affiliated science fair, and be nominated by the fair for the Broadcom MASTERS. Nominees will then complete the online application. Entries will be judged during the summer and, in August, SSP and Broadcom will announce the top 300 national Semifinalists. From the Semifinalists, 30 students will be selected by early September as Finalists and will win an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, DC in October 2012 to showcase their projects, compete in teams and visit historical sites and organizations that celebrate innovation through science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Finalists, along with one parent or guardian, will be awarded an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, DC from September 30-October 5, 2011 to compete in the Broadcom MASTERS finals. During this time, Finalists will present their original science fair projects and compete in team science and engineering activities. Finalist week will test knowledge of science, math and engineering, problem-solving, teamwork, and leadership skills. Top Finalists will win awards, prizes, and scientific excursions.
