Primary Areas of Interest
We will attempt to honor your area(s) of interest, but that may not always be possible. The fair runs from Sunday, May 10, 2009 through Saturday, May 16, 2009. Volunteers are needed from the Friday before the fair (May 09, 2009) through Saturday, May 15, 2009. Please select all areas you may be interested in (some are available only on specific days):

Operations - Contact Terri George, chair if questions

 
Display and Safety - Check projects for rules compliance (SU, MO)
Computer/Communications Support - Work with hardware and software (Entire Fair)
Operations/Hub - Assist with student project set-up/tear-down (SA - 2nd FR)
Shipping - Loading, unloading, projects, exhibits, etc.
First Aid - (Are you a registered nurse, EMT or Doctor?)  
Security - Guard doors and check for proper entry & exit with materials from Exhibits Halls
 

General Fair Duties: Contact Fair Director - Mary Lue Walser if questions

 
Registration - Register students, adults and judges (some computer use, SA - WE)
Registration - Bag Stuffers - Prepare information and gift packets for students, adults, judges, and others (1st FR - SA)
Hospitality - Welcome - Welcome at Air Port, (SA - SU)
Hospitality - Act as host/hostess for tours
Hospitality - Retail Store - Take money and assist shoppers; Handle personal bag check in & storage claims (SA 12 - 5, SU 1 - 5, MO - FR 7:00 a.m. - Noon or Noon - 5:00 p.m.)
Catering - Help insure food is delivered on time and check accuracy of food delivery
Events - Serve as ushers, Crowd control, help direct participantes to events, etc. (SU -FR)
Transportation - Crowd management
Press Room - Provide clerical support for press/media personnel (SU - FR)
Office Assistance - Routine clerical functions such as phone, photocopy, light computer for some positions (Entire Fair)
Exhibits - Discovery Room/Interactive Exhibits - Escort students and faculties through exhibits at Convention Center (TH 7:30 a.m. - FR Noon)
Educational Outreach Program - Work with activities for middle school students
Signage - Work with committee chairs to insure that signs are placed at appropriate time for events, etc.
Public Relations - Help prepare printed materials to promote fair and prepare materials for participants
