Since 1921, SSP has conveyed the excitement of all areas of science and research to the public through award-winning publications and world-class science education competitions. SSP is proud to share the world of science with our global community. Engaging students, parents, teachers, and the public in the evolving and influential world of science, we inspire the endless possibilities it offers.
Science is everywhere: curing disease, delivering profound new technologies, driving economic growth, creating new jobs, and helping us define and discover our place in the universe. Science provides solutions that improve lives everywhere. Our challenge is to advance the role of science as motivation and inspiration in the classroom, in the boardroom and in the halls of government. We must continue to promote all that science reveals on the pages, televisions and computer screens that bring us our news 24 hours a day, and encourage scientific inquiry and exploration at every level.
At Society for Science & the Public we seek to meet this challenge through our flagship publication, Science News, which provides crisp, concise coverage of all fields of science daily. Reaching the global community with professional, intelligent, accessible, award-winning coverage, online and in print, SSP delivers news from across the range of scientific disciplines.
For 70 years, SSP's science education programs—the Intel Science Talent Search (formerly the Westinghouse Science Talent Search), the Intel® International Science and Engineering Fair®, and the Broadcom MASTERS—have inspired generations of science enthusiasts, including Nobel Laureates, National Medal of Science recipients, and nearly 50,000 other distinguished program alumni. SSP believes that educating and inspiring the young scientists of tomorrow, whose vision will usher in new solutions to global challenges, is vital to our common future.
SSP is proud of its impact on public engagement in science for over nine decades. SSP is a non-profit, membership organization, the advancement of which relies on talent and passion. The Society is limited only by the resources available to deliver and expand its work and welcomes your support:
