Participate in Student Research, Reaching the Intel ISEF

To participate in the Intel ISEF, millions of students worldwide must undergo at least one level of competition by participating in a state, regional, or national science fair that is affiliated with the Intel ISEF. The Intel ISEF unites these top young scientific minds, showcasing their talent on an international stage, enabling them to submit their work to judging by doctoral level scientists—and providing the opportunity to compete for nearly $4 million in prizes and scholarships.

To learn more about Intel ISEF Finalists, their projects, and ideas to help your own research, we invite you to visit:

  • Our Science Resources section, dedicated to aiding in the support of independent student research
  • Our collection of videos highlighting the research projects of past Intel ISEF Finalists
  • The Archimedes Initiative - An effort formed to promote science literacy and increase the number of scientists and engineers in the United States, which includes videos of Intel ISEF Finalists

Participating in a science fair can be a very rewarding experience. It is the culmination of conducting an independent research project and provides valuable feedback as you continue your scientific pursuits. However, careful planning and consideration of the rules to ensure the safety of the student researcher and any research subjects is critical to this success.

“Don't participate in science fairs for the awards. Don't do science for the recognition. Don't compare yourself to anyone else and don't force yourself to do it. Do it because you love it and because you can make a difference. Help your community and contribute to society. Learn through your experiences and discover the world around you. Such is the true reward of science."
